Your pet will be booked in at an agreed time.  We usually aim to complete the grooming session within a maximum of two hours, depending on coat condition, size of the dog etc.   We usually agree on a pick up time with you when you leave your dog.  Often we agree to ring the owner when the grooming is completed which means the dog stays with us for the absolute minimum amount of time needed.  This doesn’t suit everyone though, for various reasons owners often like to leave their dogs longer and we can usually agree to that ¸depending mostly on cage numbers, and providing  they are collected by closing time of course,  although, when necessary we can make arrangements about that as well.  We understand that most people are busy and always endeavour to make the grooming experience as pleasant and easy for all concerned.

PLEASE NOTE: GROOMING SERVICES ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

This package will make your pet look good and feel refreshed.

Bath & Tidy   (Bath and Spruce up)

This package is ideal for intermediate visits between full body clips, or when growing the coat longer for winter.

Please note: this package does NOT include a full body trim.

Body Clip     (Complete Makeover)

Our groomers work to a very high standard and are judged continually by our clients.

While we have a good knowledge of most breed clips, or styles, we pride ourselves with being able to be flexible to suit every owner.   Every dog, just like their owner is an individual.  Therefore, you may for example tell us you would like your westie to simply look like a westie.  We can certainly achieve this for you, (although sometimes it can take a couple of visits to do this depending on the length of the coat on the original visit.  If the coat is to short where it needs to be longer, obviously we all need to wait for it to grow to achieve the desired look.)  But, you may ask us to trim your westie to the same length all over, or you may prefer him/her to be shorter on the body with a typical westie shaped face and maybe tail as well.  The choices are endless and totally up to you, although we can help guide you if you require that.  The only thing we won’t do is clip your dog so that it looks silly, give it a mo-hawk for example.  Sounds harmless, but if this is done, people tend to laugh at the dog when they see it and the dog can get quite upset about that, particularly when it happens repeatedly.   Even dogs don’t like to be laughed at, and we don’t encourage their unhappiness.

Full Groom Out    (Pampered Finish)

This is intended for dogs whose owners want to keep their friends in full coat.  We can’t always achieve this, immediately; it depends on the condition of the coat.  We can and do brush out quite a lot of knots, but as always, we put the dog’s wellbeing first.  If we consider it will take to long for the dog to cope with or be too painful to brush the coat out we will advise you instead to clip the coat to start with and with more regular grooming at home and/or with us we can work on eventually achieving the desired look. The cost is usually the same as for ‘The Complete Makeover’ as it is a time consuming service, but it keeps your dog’s coat comfortable, in good condition and looking stylish.

Additional Services:

These are mainly optional services which you may choose in addition to our standard packages.

Hand Stripping

Thinning and shortening the dog coat using a stripping knife. This is ideal for terriers with wire-haired coats or for dogs with thick, double coats and lots of dead hair, like Huskies, Samoyeds and Malamutes.

Matt removal (Not Optional)

Matts are knots or clumping of fur, sometimes around foreign matter such as grass seeds and buzzies. To test for matting, comb through your dog’s coat to the skin. The matts tend to form close to the skin, eventually making the dog uncomfortable and can lead to bruising and raw skin. They need to be removed before the bath, often incurring an extra charge.

If your dog arrives with a matted coat, it may be clipped shorter than you would like but our main concern is for the dog’s welfare – this will be explained before grooming begins

Nail Clipping – $15 – No need to book!

When your dog walks on a hard surface and you can hear its nails scratching, this might indicate the nails are ready to be clipped.  If you are unsure, bring your dog in and we will quickly have a look and tell you wether or not they need a clip.
